FRESH 48 SESSIONS
Preserve those precious first memories of your new baby with a Fresh 48 film & photography session. Sessions are done within the first few days of birth, either in the hospital or at your home.
When should I book?
You may contact me as soon as you have an expected due date. We can go over any questions you may have and I will make a tentative booking for you. I only book two Fresh 48 newborn sessions per month, so it’s best to contact me as soon as possible to reserve your space.
Where are the sessions held?
Fresh 48 sessions with Candace Mata Photography are held either in the hospital or in your home shortly after the baby's arrival.
Fresh 48 sessions are done as soon after birth as possible. I aim to book Fresh 48 sessions the morning following your baby's birth if you schedule an in-hospital session. In-home sessions are done as soon as possible after you arrive home from the hospital.
Session fees include travel to locations within Merced & Stanislaus County. Locations outside of the area will incur a travel fee.
How long will a Fresh 48 newborn session last?
Plan for the session to last about an hour in the hospital, and 1-2 hours if you opt for an in-home session.
Who may be included?
These sessions are meant to document your immediate family welcoming your new addition. So usually only parents and siblings are included. However, if you have a different vision for your session let me know and we can work out something for you.
What will you need for your session?
Fresh 48 sessions aren't stylized by me like a traditional newborn session. Parents usually have a special outfit or swaddle they choose to use for their session, for example, the baby's going home outfit. If you'd prefer I can bring along swaddles for your use during your session.
What sanitizing protocols are in use?
Your baby’s health is of utmost importance to me. Anything that I bring along that will come in contact with the baby, such as swaddles, are washed with a laundry sanitizer & hypoallergenic baby detergent before your session. Un-washable items are steam sanitized, UV sanitized or wiped with sanitizing wipes. I also bring along hand sanitizer and use it frequently during sessions. I will also wear a mask while handling your baby. I do not photograph newborns while I’m ill and I ask that clients reschedule if they are feeling unwell.
What is the pricing for Fresh 48 newborn sessions?
Fresh 48 session fees start at $600 for a 1-1.5 hour session.
Turnaround time for the image files is completed quickly so you can announce your baby's birth and share your professional images from your session as soon as possible. Within 72 hours after your session, you will be able to access your private online proofing gallery with 25-30 images for you to order from. The final image amount you will receive will depend on the collection you choose.
The film will take about 3 weeks after your session to complete. Editing video files is a much more tedious process than processing the digital image files, so I will need more time to complete the editing for the film.
